Off-road traffic permit for the home municipality during the snow-covered season in Enontekiö, Inari and Utsjoki

Local residents of Inari, Utsjoki and Enontekiö may apply to Metsähallitus for an off-road traffic permit during the snow season for the state-owned lands in their home municipality. A permit will be granted to all residents that have a need for off-road vehicle use during the snow season. The permit can be applied online. The general off-road traffic permit for the snow season for one’s home municipality does not include national parks and nature reserves

If the local resident has a justified need for off-road vehicle use during the snow season in park areas or needs an off-road traffic permit during the snow-free season for established tracks, a separate application must be submitted.

Permits are granted only for compelling reasons. Summer off-road traffic permits are generally not granted for national and nature parks.

The permit decision for the driver's home municipality is always free of charge.
