3548 Kemihaara
Kemihaara recreational fishing destination is situated in the upper reaches of the Kemijoki River from Uuraojansuu to Kemihaara Bridge. The permit area is an approximately 11 kilometres long stretch of river waters. Only fly fishing gear can be used when fishing in Kemihaara permit area.
Most of the area consists of rapids sections both big and small that can be waded almost in their entirety. There is one hut on the riverbank. A forest lorry road runs on the Eastern side of the river, but it is in poor condition and may not be accessible to regular street vehicles.

Keep in mind in this area
The number of angling permits is limited. Please check the availability of permits beforehand. Maximum of eight people can purchase an angling permit for the same day in this permit area.
Validity begins always at 6:00 PM.
Permits needed for fishing
In this permit area, you will need an angling permit for all types of fishing. You will also be required to pay the fisheries management fee, unless you are under 18 years of age, over 70 years of age, or are 65 years of age or older as of 31 December 2023.
Hook and line fishing and ice fishing are fully prohibited in rapids and running sections of waters with migratory fish stocks (i.e. also this permit area). In this permit area, hook and line fishing and ice fishing are prohibited also in still waters, such as river pools.
