The Ryettikuoškâ / Ritakoski rental hut is located in the demanding wilderness area of Hammastunturi along River Ivalojoki. Navigation skills are needed to get to the hut. The hut is not accessible during the thaw. Built in the early 1900s, this large log gold prospector’s hut – Ritakosken Kultala – is located on the north bank of the River Ivalojoki, approximately 3 km downstream from the mouth of the River Sotajoki. There is a 6-person open wilderness hut in the same building. Outdoor dry toilet, wood shed, storehouse, campfire site and locked maintenance hut.
A rental hut is a place for an overnight stay that can be rented for only your use.

Every fishing and hunting area and hut has a page with a map window that shows the location of the destination. In case of permit areas, you can see the borders of the area. Did you know that you can choose what and how information is displayed on the map?
From Kultala it is about an 11 km hike to Ritakoski along the northern bank of the River Ivalojoki.
A marked summer hiking trail leads from Pahaoja parking area to Kultala.
There are suspension footbridges over the Ivalojoki and Sotajoki rivers.
The rental hut can also be reached by canoe.

A gas stove.
There is no running water in the hut.
Visitors can get water from the River Ivalojoki. It is recommended to boil water from natural sources before consumption. Water quality is not tested. Drink water taken directly from nature at your own risk.

Please clean the hut before you leave.
Although Finland has a broad network for mobile phones, there are some areas in the park without signal. If this happens try to climb to a higher place or go into an open area. Check the mobile network coverage with your mobile phone operator before your trip.
There are fire alarms at wilderness huts, but we recommend to bring a 9 V battery and/or your own travel fire alarm with you.
