Õđđâmpäʹšttem / Kontinpaistama rental hut is located along the marked trail in the demanding wilderness area of Kaldoaivi by the pond Kontinpaistamalampi. The hut is not accessible during the thaw. The distance from the hut to River Näätämöjoki is about 300 metres. Suitable for recreational fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts who love the peace and quiet of the wilderness. There is also a sauna in the yard. Please note that there is a quota for the number of fishing licences to be sold for River Näätämöjoki.
A rental hut is a place for an overnight stay that can be rented for only your use.
Reservations
The reservation day for shared rental huts and rental huts begins at 2 pm and end at 12 noon.
Bring along your invoice and proof of payment to the hut.
The use of huts and other structures in business operations requires a permit from Metsähallitus (metsa.fi).

Arrival instructions
The closest village is Näätämö where you will find a service station and a grocery shop. On weekdays, a bus operates between Ivalo‒Näätämö.
The closest neighbour is at a distance of 6 km.
Summer trail
There is a parking area on the left 8.2 km from north of the village of Sevettijärvi. From the parking area leads a marked trail to the Kontinpaistama rental hut. The trail goes over the Jänispää fell. It is 5.4 km to the hut from the parking area.
Winter trail
From the village of Sevettijärvi, travel (along the marked snowmobile track) for about 6 km to Lake Sundeejärvi, from where a maintenance track that has been marked with twigs branches off. The maintenance track runs to Rautujärvi and further onwards to Lake Kontinpaistamajärvi and Kontinpaistamalampi Pond. The track has been marked in the terrain with diagonal crosses. You can park your car in the village of Sevettijärvi.
Snowmobiling to the hut requires a cross-country traffic permit. You can buy the permit from Eraluvat.fi. Please note! Acquire the permit about one week before going to the destination.

Yard
A sauna in a separate building, a dry toilet, a campfire site and a root cellar.
Please note that there is no boat at the hut.
Keys
The key is in a key cabinet on the hut wall. The cabinet is protected with a code. Instructions and the code are sent to you by e-mail at the time of booking.
Facilities
Heating and lighting
The hut has a stove and firewood for heating. Please use firewood sparingly. Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.
The hut has a solar panel, but as the sunlight decreases, its power decreases.
We recommend using a headlamp, which leaves your hands free to do chores around the hut. For safety reasons, candles must be burned on a non-combustible surface and constantly monitored.
Cooking
A gas stove.
Drinking water
There is no running water in the hut.
Drinking water from the brook. It is recommended to boil water from natural sources before consumption. The water is not tested annually. Drink water taken directly from nature at your own risk.

Staying overnight
Folding beds, mattresses, pillows and blankets.
Please bring your own bed linen or a sleeping bag.
Sauna
There is a separate sauna building.
Toilet
There is a dry toilet near the hut. Please bring your own toilet paper.
Waste disposal
There are waste containers by the cabin but visitors are advised to take their accumulated waste with them.
Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about hiking without littering (nationalparks.fi).
Other things to keep in mind
The hut is located in a reindeer herding area, take into account the free-grazing reindeer and keep your dog on a leash.
Please clean the hut before you leave.
Safety
Although Finland has a broad network for mobile phones, there are some areas in the park without signal. If this happens try to climb to a higher place or go into an open area. Check the mobile network coverage with your mobile phone operator before your trip.
There are fire alarms at wilderness huts, but we recommend to bring a 9 V battery and/or your own travel fire alarm with you.
