The permit covers a total of 3,970 hectares of state-owned water areas in the Gulf of Finland National Park.

Fishing period

1 January – 31 December. Trap fishing is entirely prohibited 1 October – 15 May in the Pitkäviiri and Kilpisaari water areas.

Keep in mind in this area

The fisher must check the protected areas, restricted areas, landing restrictions and other restrictions in the Gulf of Finland National Park Instructions and Rules, which can be found at Luontoon.fi service. For example, campfires and camping are only permitted at the sites specifically designated for these activities.

The Finnish Defence Forces has exercises in the surroundings of Rankki Island. Check possible restrictions on the website of the Finnish Defence Forces (puolustusvoimat.fi ).

Permits needed for fishing

Trap fishing in this permit area always requires a trap permit. You will also be required to pay the fisheries management fee, unless you are under 18 years of age, over 70 years of age, or are 65 years of age or older as of 31 December 2023.
