The permit covers a total of 2,700 hectares of state-owned water areas in the municipality of Ilomantsi. The most important lakes for trap fishing are Lake Hattujärvi, Syväjärvi, Ilajanjärvi and Niemijärvi. Perch, pike and cyprinids are natural fish species in this area. Some of the lakes in the trap permit area are stocked with whitefish.

The Eräluvat.fi website and the Eräluvat webshop have been merged and renewed. As a result of the update, old customer accounts are no longer be available. Paid permits continue to be valid.
Trap fishing in this permit area always requires a trap permit. You will also be required to pay the fisheries management fee, unless you are under 18 years of age, over 70 years of age, or are 65 years of age or older as of 31 December 2023.
In Lake Koitere, the Koitere fisheries area permit also entitles the holder to fish in Metsähallitus water areas.
The trap permit for this area only entitles you to fish waters specified in the water area directory and marked in the map window on this page. Always check water area-specific trapping restrictions, protected areas and any other instructions in the water area directory/PDF-map. You can find the water area directory/PDF-map under Map files and brochures.
The permit does not entitle the holder to fish in waters within the frontier zone, or the following water areas:
Iso Kuikkalampi Pond, Pieni Kuikkalampi Pond, Savulampi Pond and Mustalampi Pond in Petkeljärvi National Park
Waters in the Koivusuo Strict Nature Reserve.
Many of the lakes in the trap permit area are stocked with whitefish.
