Lappajärvi public water area covers approximately 3,800 hectares.

Targeted catch: Burbot, perch, pike, pike-perch, trout, vendace, whitefish
Restrictions: In water more than four metres deep, nets with a mesh size of 25–49 mm are prohibited. The restriction is valid until the end of 2025 (VARELY/511/2024). Check the restrictions carefully in the permit terms and water area directory.

Permits needed for fishing

Trap fishing in this permit area always requires a trap permit. You will also be required to pay the fisheries management fee, unless you are under 18 years of age, over 70 years of age, or are 65 years of age or older as of 31 December 2023.
