Lake Teerilampi is a quiet fishing destination with good transport connections. The lake is regularly stocked with rainbow trout, which are only waiting to grab a suitable lure.

The lake is located near Seitseminen National Park, which offers not only fishing but also other nature experiences for the whole family. The attractions include the heritage farm of Kovero and the Visitor Centre’s exhibition showcasing the versatile nature of Suomenselkä area.

Permits needed for fishing

In this permit area, you will need an angling permit for all fishing – including hook and line fishing and ice fishing.

You will also be required to pay the fisheries management fee, unless you are under 18 years of age, over 70 years of age, or are 65 years of age or older as of 31 December 2023. However, the fisheries management fee is not required if you are hook and line fishing or ice fishing with only one rod. If you are hook and line fishing or ice fishing with multiple rods, you are required to purchase an angling permit and pay the fisheries management fee.

Services in the area

The structures at Teerilampi were renovated in 2023 and 2024. A boardwalk leads around the lake, with approximately 30 fishing platforms built along the walk. Near the parking area, there are four accessible fishing platforms. An accessible shelter and restroom have also been built near the parking area. Additionally, there is a cooking shelter and a lean-to shelter.

Fisheries management

Catch-sized rainbow trout is stocked into the waters of Teerilampi every 3–4 weeks between May and September and 1–2 times in winter. During the winter season plantings are conducted once or twice.
