Hiidenmaa Farm
The Hiidenmaa Farm rental hut, situated by Lake Luonteri next to the highest hill in South Savo, invites visitors to enjoy a peasant atmosphere from the early 1900s. The wooden floors in the main house (3 rooms and kitchen on) feel cosy under your feet, while the wood-burning baking oven, circular fireplace and stove give off gentle heat. Cooking is easy on the gas cooker in the veranda. The absence of electricity ensures a novel, restful experience for the mind. On Hiidenmaa farm, you get to try out a simple, relaxed but hard-working attitude to life and enjoy the peace of nature, together with the Saimaa ringed seal, which is native to the labyrinthine lake landscape of Luonteri.
As there are marked trails in the area, other hikers and groups move about there. Hiking trails to Neitvuori and the Hiidenmaa trail network pass by the yard.
A rental hut is a place for an overnight stay that can be rented for only your use. In 2024 the hut is reserved only for shepherd weeks.
Reservations
The reservation day for reservable and rental huts begins at 2 pm and end at 12 noon.
Bring along your invoice and proof of payment to the hut.
In 2025 the hut is reserved only for shepherd weeks. The shepherds are selected by lottery by the end of February.
