Mustavuori rental campfire hut
The Mustavuori rental campfire hut is located on the Kuutinlahti lakeshore, just beside the Kaakkurinkierros hiking trail. A small campfire hut is suitable for accommodating small groups or serving as a base camp for larger groups: seats 20 people, on the benches or the wooden floor there is sleeping space for five people. The small yard, enclosed by fences, features its own campfire site and is exclusively for the use of renters.
A rental campfire hut is a place for an overnight stay that can be rented for only your use.
Reservations
The reservation day for reservable and rental huts begins at 2 pm and end at 12 noon.
Bring along your invoice and proof of payment to the hut.

Hiking
The hut is located right next to Kaakkurinkierros hiking trail.
Driving instructions
There’s no road access with any motor vehicle to the Mustavuori hut. There is about 4 kms from the nearest parking area, Saarijärvi parking area, Kuismantie 990, Kouvola (Road 368). Space for approximately 60 cars. During the winter maintenance period, the parking area is smaller.

Yard
A wood-shed (locked), some cut firewood and an axe.
A campfire site, a picnic table and a toilet with suction emptying on the yard.
Own yard defined by fences, camping is allowed in the yard.
Near the hut, there is also a public canoe jetty.
Keys
The key is in a key cabinet on the hut wall. The cabinet is protected with a code. Instructions and the code are sent to you by e-mail at the time of booking.
Please note that the door will be get locked automatically. It’s recommended to keep the key in the key box.
Facilities
Heating and lighting
The hut has a stove and firewood for heating. Please use firewood sparingly. Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.
The hut has no electricity. We recommend using a headlamp, which leaves your hands free to do chores around the hut. For safety reasons, candles must be burned on a non-combustible surface and constantly monitored.
Cooking
A stove, pots and pans for stove and for campfire. No cutlery or dishes.
Drinking water
There is no running water in the hut.
Drinking water well is located about 1.5 km away in Olhava.
It is recommended to boil water from natural sources before consumption. Water quality is not tested. Drink water taken directly from nature at your own risk.

Staying overnight
Broad benches by the walls. Room for 20 persons.
Space on the floor and benches for about five people to stay overnight.
Toilet
There is a toilet with suction emptying. Putting leftovers or litter into the toilet is prohibited.
Please bring your own toilet paper.
Waste disposal
There are no waste containers by the cabin. Visitors are advised to take their accumulated waste with them.
Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about hiking without littering (nationalparks.fi).
Other things to keep in mind
Dogs and other pets are not allowed in this campfire hut. Always keep your pets on leash in national parks.
Smoking is prohibited in the hut.
Dishwashing liquid, spices, candles, fire-making equipment and toilet paper are not included.
The Mustavuori rental campfire hut and the Kuutinkämppä hut with a sauna (for 6 people, tervarumpu.fi), located about 100 meters away, allow for the accommodation of a slightly larger group in the area if needed.
Please clean the hut before you leave.
Safety
Although Finland has a broad network for mobile phones, there are some areas in the park without signal. If this happens try to climb to a higher place or go into an open area. Check the mobile network coverage with your mobile phone operator before your trip.
There are fire alarms at wilderness huts, but we recommend to bring a 9 V battery and/or your own travel fire alarm with you.
