Small predator permit
To purchase a small predator permit, first select a small predator area! You can pay for the permit immediately using the most common methods of payment.
Metsähallitus encourages hunters to catch small predators by offering affordable small predator permits. Hunting such invasive alien species as the mink and raccoon dog significantly supports nature management. Small predators may be hunted in a large part of Metsähallitus’ hunting areas. A hunter may be granted a small predator permit for several permit areas.
Holders of a small predator permit may hunt all small predators, muskrats, squirrels, wild boar and, of so-called pest bird species, ravens (in the reindeer herding area), crows, magpies, jackdaws, European herring gulls and great black-backed gulls without quotas. Small predators include the fox, raccoon dog, mink, pine marten, ermine, ferret and badger. The open season for the American mink and raccoon dog, which are invasive species, continues until 31 July.
Each hunting permit is an investment in nature, as the permit revenue is spent on game management.
Complete your investment in nature by submitting a catch report.
