Mustajärvi Croft
Mustajärvi Croft rental hut (common room, hall, bedroom and vestibule with kitchen) is located in the Evo Hiking Area and is a former forest ranger's farm. The farm's old forest pastures and meadows are significant conservation areas due to the value associated with their landscape and nature. The timber-framed Mustajärvi main building, the reservable double hut, is built in the 1850s and 1860s, and radiates the history of the Evo crown park. The location is a popular shepherd site in the summer. There is also a sauna in the yard.
A rental hut is a place for an overnight stay that can be rented for only your use.

The reservation day for reservable and rental huts begins at 2 pm and end at 12 noon.
Bring along your invoice and proof of payment to the hut.

Facilities
Heating and lighting
The hut is heated by a large, heat-storing, brick-built baking oven in the hall and a fireplace in the bedroom. Please note! The use of the wood-burning stove in the kitchen area and the fireplace in the common room is forbidden for the time being. Please use firewood sparingly: two full loads of wood per day is enough to heat the heat-storing fireplaces. Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.
It is advisable to first keep the fire burning low in the heat-storing fireplaces of the hut to give the chimney time to warm up (no smoke inside). You must open the fireplace dampers before lighting a fire. Double dampers: one for ventilation and the other for the fireplace. Both dampers shall be kept open. Do not leave the fire unattended when lighting it!
The hut also has electricity and electric lighting.
Remember to pack a torch. We recommend a head torch which leaves your hands free for sauna duties. For safety reasons, candles must be burned on a non-combustible surface and constantly monitored.
Cooking
The kitchen area has an electric cooker and oven, a refrigerator (with an ice compartment), crockery and cutlery.
Drinking water
There is a well in the yard. Please note that the well water must be boiled before drinking.
Drinking water is also available from the tap of the machine room located in the yard of Evo Centre or from the well at Evo Camping Centre.
Staying overnight
Beds, mattresses, pillows and blankets for 6 persons.
Please bring your own linen or a sleeping bag and towels.
Sauna
There is a separate building with a veranda, washing facilities and a wood-heated sauna.
Toilet
There is a dry toilet near the hut. Please bring your own toilet paper.
Waste disposal
There are no waste containers by the cabin. Visitors are advised to take their accumulated waste with them.
Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about hiking without littering (nationalparks.fi).
Other things to keep in mind
Pets must be kept on leash also in the yard (and entering the pasture with pets is prohibited).
There are no accessible services in the hut.
Smoking is prohibited inside the hut.
Please clean the hut before you leave.
Safety
Although Finland has a broad network for mobile phones, there are some areas in the park without signal. If this happens try to climb to a higher place or go into an open area. Check the mobile network coverage with your mobile phone operator before your trip.
There are fire alarms at wilderness huts, but we recommend to bring a 9 V battery and/or your own travel fire alarm with you.
