Rytitupa
Rytitupa rental hut is located at the Rytivaara Crown Tenant Farm in Rytivaara, along the Syöte-Kouva UKK-trail. The wooden hut is a former wilderness hut which earlier stood at south hillside of Rytivaara. There it served hikers for 10 years before it was moved 3 km to its present location and changed into a reservable hut. In the Rytivaara hut you can experience spending the night in a forest croft, with an atmosphere of the olden days. There is also a sauna in the yard.
A rental hut is a place for an overnight stay that can be rented for only your use.
Reservations
The reservation day for reservable and rental huts begins at 2 pm and end at 12 noon.
Bring along your invoice and proof of payment to the hut.
Available for rent all year round.

Arrival instructions
From the Iso-Syöte main road (nro 858) there are road signs to the Rytivaara, which is about 18 km from Syöte village, along the Karsikkoperäntie road. The road signs lead to the Ukonvaara parking lot, which is 4 km from the hut. In the fall and spring time the road can be undriveable for some period of time.
The road to Ukonvaara parking lot is maintained during wintertime, but conditions can change quickly! In case of a sudden heavy snowfall the road might be undriveable.

Yard
A sauna, woodshed and a dry toilet, as well as a campfire site in the farm yard.
Keys
The key is in a key cabinet on the hut wall. The cabinet is protected with a code. Instructions and the code are sent to you by e-mail at the time of booking.
Facilities
Heating and lighting
The hut has a stove and firewood for heating. Please use firewood sparingly. Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.
The hut has no electricity. We recommend using a headlamp, which leaves your hands free to do chores around the hut. For safety reasons, candles must be burned on a non-combustible surface and constantly monitored.
Cooking
A gas stove, saucepans and a frying pan. No other cooking utensils.
Drinking water
There is no running water in the hut.
The water in the yard's wells have not be en examined, so bringing your own drinking water is preferable. From the farm's sauna there is a trail leading to a waterhole. It is recommended to boil water from natural sources before consumption. Water quality is not tested. Drink water taken directly from nature at your own risk.
See tips on how to obtain safe drinking water on a hike (Nationalparks.fi).
Staying overnight
Two bunk beds, mattresses, pillows, blankets.
Please bring your own linen or a sleeping bag.
Sauna
Wood heated sauna in the separate building 100 m from the hut. Bring your own sauna cover sheet.
Toilet
There is a dry toilet near the hut. Please bring your own toilet paper.
Waste disposal
There are no waste containers by the cabin. Visitors are advised to take their accumulated waste with them.
Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about hiking without littering (nationalparks.fi).
Other things to keep in mind
Check the road access from Syöte Visitor Centre during Winter.
There are no accessible services in the hut.
Please clean the hut before you leave.
Safety
Although Finland has a broad network for mobile phones, there are some areas in the park without signal. If this happens try to climb to a higher place or go into an open area. Check the mobile network coverage with your mobile phone operator before your trip.
There are fire alarms at wilderness huts, but we recommend to bring a 9 V battery and/or your own travel fire alarm with you.
